(VOVWORLD) - German newspaper Neues Deutschland has praised Vietnam’s prompt response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its policy of putting people’s health ahead of economic gains.

On Saturday’s article, reporter Julia Behrens wrote that over the past 3 months, Vietnam has been free from new infections in the community.
New patients are those who returned from abroad and have been quarantined.
As a result, clubs remain open, major events and conferences are held, market operations are interrupted, and daily activities keep running as normal, said Behrens.
The article quoted Professor Thirumalaisamy P. Velavan of the University of Tübingen in Germany as saying that quick response is the decisive factor in Vietnam’s success in the COVID-19 fight.
All suspected and confirmed cases have been publicized on state media, said Neues Deutschland.
