Protests against Israel-Hamas conflict spread around the world
(VOVWORLD) - Protests against the conflict between the Islamic movement Hamas and Israel, especially the airstrike on Al‑Ahli Al‑Arabi hospital that killed nearly 500 people, are taking place around the world.

On Wednesday, some 10,000 people demonstrated in Greece’s capital Athens to show solidarity with the Palestinians. On the same day, protests also took place in many other major Greek cities.
Hundreds of Jewish peace activists rallied in Washington calling on the Biden administration and Congress to press for a ceasefire in Gaza. Extremist protesters blocked and set fires on Independence Avenue near the US Capitol building. 500 protesters were arrested for not complying with the order to disperse.
In Iraq about 300 people gathered in the Green Zone, where the US Embassy and other foreign representative agencies are located to protest against the current violent situation in Gaza.
Algeria has suspended all government-sponsored cultural and sports activities in tribute to the victims in the Gaza Strip.
