Putin discusses regional conflicts with CIA chief
(VOVWORLD) - Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke of bilateral relations, regional conflicts, and a crisis in diplomatic relations with the head of the US Central Intelligence Agency, who made a rare trip to Moscow last week, the Kremlin said on Monday.
CIA chief William Burns was in Russia for two days of meetings with senior officials at the request of President Joe Biden, the US embassy said.
Burns was the US Ambassador to Russia from 2005-2008, and was appointed the CIA's director in March 2021.
Russian and US officials have had a series of high-level talks since relations hit a series of post-Cold War lows over cyber security, Syria, and Ukraine.
