(VOVworld) - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday ordered his government to draw up retaliatory measures against the latest round of Western sanctions. Putin said that any retaliation should be done very carefully to support domestic producers and avoid harming consumers. Putin said that political tools of economic pressure imposed by the US and the EU against Russia are unacceptable and run counter to all international norms and rules. According to the Russian President, manufacturers from different countries should be treated equally in a competitive environment to serve national security interests and comply with World Trade Organization regulations.
