Putin highlighted the need for the SCO to strengthen itself as a platform for constructive interaction.
He said that working on a basis of equality, mutual benefit, respect for each other’s sovereignty, and non-interference in the domestic affairs of others made it possible to turn this organization into an effective mechanism of multilateral cooperation.
The SCO is the largest multinational organization, uniting about half of the world’s population, said Putin.
He expressed confidence that his meeting with Xi Jinping will give momentum to the Russia-China strategic partnership.
Xi said China is ready to work with Russia to develop the world sustainably, and he is ready to exchange views with Putin on bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual concern.
