(VOVWORLD) - North Korea hopes for progress in its denuclearization talks with the US, said North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during the third inter-Korean summit, now taking place in Pyongyang.

Mr. Kim thanked South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Tuesday for his efforts to bring Pyongyang and Washington to the historic meeting in Singapore on June 12.
Denuclearization negotiations are stuck because the US wants North Korea to announce its denuclearization plans in detail, while North Korea wants the US first to sign a treaty officially ending the Korean war. Mr. Moon is doing his best to be a mediator between the US and North Korea.
