(VOVWORLD) - The quality of provincial economic governance in Vietnam reached its highest level in 15 years in 2019, according to the 2019 Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) report on May 5.
Quang Ninh province continued to lead the country, marking the third consecutive year it has secured the top position. It was followed by Dong Thap, Vinh Long, and Bac Ninh province. Da Nang, Quang Nam, Ben Tre, Long An, Hanoi, and Hai Phong continue to be in the top ten.
"The transparency of businesses which affects the development of the private sector has improved. But the survey shows that reform should be further strengthened to improve transparency in public procurement," said Dau Anh Tuan, Head of the Legal Department of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The survey shows businesses’ hope for further reforms, streamlining, and improvements to the legal system.
