Ramaphosa elected South Africa’s president
(VOVWORLD) - Cyril Ramaphosa was elected as South Africa’s president in a parliamentary vote on Thursday, following the resignation of President Jacob Zuma on Wednesday night.

Ramaphosa, 65, the leader of the ruling African National Congress (ANC) party since December and former vice-president of South Africa, was the only candidate nominated during a session of the Parliament. Mr. Zuma resigned after intense pressure from his own party.
