(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam will resume regular international commercial flights to a number of countries and territories in Asia and the United States starting January 1, 2022.

The Government’s Office announced that Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh gave the green-light to the plan at a meeting last week.
In the short term, flights will operate between Vietnam and Beijing/Guangzhou (China), Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (the Republic of Korea), Taipei (Taiwan, China), Bangkok (Thailand), Singapore, Vientiane (Laos), Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and San Francisco/Los Angeles (the US).
The flights will be operated based on the Ministry of Health's guidances on medical measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensuring safety, efficiency, and smoothness.
