The program aims to strategically connect Vietnamese and US universities and support them to work out practical, effective and sustainable cooperation plans.

Prime Minister Chinh told the guests that universities from the two countries should work together towards long-term, sustainable, practical and effective projects and plans. He suggested student and lecturer exchanges, joint training, and collaborative research projects as well as called on the US to consider expanding scholarships and reducing tuition fees for Vietnamese students and researchers.

Mentioning big tech companies such as Intel, NVIDIA, and Apple, who have come to seek investment opportunities and expand their ecosystem, the PM encouraged universities to exchange ideas and create cooperation programs, particularly in high-tech sectors like AI, semiconductors, biotechnology, health, agriculture, foreign languages, and high-quality human resources training to meet the demands of both countries' businesses and industries.

He also asked leaders of the universities to speak up to the Trump administration to soon recognize Vietnam as a market economy, remove restrictions on high-tech exports to Vietnam, limit policies that affect Vietnam's economic and trade relations, and create conditions for Vietnam’s continued development.

US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper and representatives of US universities applauded Vietnam's development strategy. They expressed their willingness to work with Vietnam to implement socio-economic development strategies, especially in education, training, science, technology and innovation, improve the quality of human resources, and contribute to deepening the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
