During a meeting with local trade experts on Thursday, Republic of Korea Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo said the Republic of Korea is considered an ideal partner for the CPTPP member countries thanks to its competitiveness in industry and technology. The Government is gathering opinions of local enterprises and experts to respond to the ever-changing world business landscape, Yeo said, adding that the government will make its final decision on whether to become a CPTPP member or not at a time when its benefits are maximized. The CPTPP can push the Republic of Korea to the top of Asia-Pacific trade scene and foster its supply chain, according to Yeo.
