Requiem for fallen soldiers held in Tam Chuc pagoda
(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Council on Saturday organized a requiem in Tam Chuc pagoda, Ha Nam province, to pray for national peace and pay gratitude to heroic martyrs as part of activities to mark War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day, July 27.

At the ceremony, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Buddhist dignitaries and followers offered incense and lit candle to pray for peace and pay gratitude to the martyrs who laid down their lives for national liberation.
Hosting a ceremony to pray for national peace and pay gratitude to fallen soldiers on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day is an annual activity of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha aiming to express the deep gratitude of today's generation for the great contributions of the predecessors and sacrifices of heroic martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of national construction and defense.
This activity also aims to educate younger generations about the heroic tradition of the nation and encourage them to further study and stay united to build a rich, beautiful and civilized homeland.
