(VOV) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung repeated that drastic reforming the organization, management, and operation of the scientific and technological sector is defined as a breakthrough in the Party Central Committee’s 6th resolution. The Prime Minister said focus should be placed on a strategy for scientific and technological development, investment models, financial mechanism, personnel planning, and an independent mechanism for scientific and technological organizations. He asked the Council, scientists, and managers to attach to the orientations, targets, and social demand to work out practical measures to develop science and technology. "Next year, we need to have a specific mechanism to accelerate scientific and technological development. Businesses in this sector should be offered exclusive incentives to apply scientific and technological results in production to increase their competitiveness. It’s necessary to review the impact of related policies such as land, tax, and credit on technological companies so as to have prompt adjustments," Dung said.

The Prime Minister asked the Council to put forward ideas to revise mechanism and policies to turn science and technology into a key momentum for national socio-economic development.
