Run in Hanoi to help disadvantaged children
(VOVworld) - Hanoi Run for Children 2016 will take place at Thong Nhat Park on December 11 to raise money for the treatment of disadvantaged children with cancer and heart disease.

The annual event is jointly organized by the Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, the Embassy of Canada, and sponsors. Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Ping Kinikone highlighted the significance of the event, saying that it aims to help disadvantaged children while consolidating the ties between Vietnam and Canada. Nguyen Thi Thu Giang, Secretary General of the Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association, said at press conference to announce the run on Thursday in Hanoi: “More Vietnamese enterprises have registered to take part in this year’s run. Many celebrities including Miss Vietnam 2016 Do My Linh will also be part of the event”.
The run raises about 44,000 USD each year, benefiting more than 300 needy children.
