(VOVworld) - Alexander Grushko, Russia's permanent representative at NATO, has said that some NATO senior officials want to revert to the Cold War era.
Grushko said Russia had to raise questions about the bloc’s increasing military buildup along the Russian border, the doubling of reconnaissance planes in Baltic states, the enhanced activities of the air force in Laska base, in Poland, and its support for the caretaker government in Kiev. NATO also announced the possibility of deploying an extra 4,500 soldiers from US Texan bases to Eastern countries bordering Russia. Grushko said that the move will break commitments on military restraint made in the Russia – NATO Treaty and force Russia to adopt appropriate measures to protect its own security.
