According to Interfax and the RIA news agency, Lavrov said the US wants additional conditions before implementing the Syria deal and said Russia will demand a very thorough investigation into the recent strike on an aid convoy in Syria.
The Kremlin said on Monday it was gravely concerned by the situation in Syria where terrorists used a ceasefire to regroup and launch new offensives against Syrian government troops. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said accusations by UN ambassadors from the UK and US that Russia may be guilty of war crimes in Syria could hinder any resolution of the Syrian crisis and hurt bilateral relations with Russia. Moscow still expects, however, to achieve steady progress toward a political settlement in Syria and will not lose hope or political will.
