(VOVworld) – Russia and Ukraine failed to resolve a gas pricing dispute during EU brokered talks in Kiev on Sunday. Russia asked Ukraine to pay last year’s gas debt of 2 trillion USD at the rate agreed by Kiev. This was the third time Moscow has extended the deadline for payment, If Ukraine’s gas debt is not paid on time, Russia will switch to pay-in-advance system, which will essentially halt the gas supply to Ukraine.  The talks deadlocked over a price disagreement. The latest price proposed by Russia was 385 USD, while on Friday Kiev said it is ready to pay 326 USD per 1,000 cubic meters.
