Russian Foreign Ministry special envoy Grigory Logvinov said Russia welcomed North Korea's declaration of readiness to return to talks and said it deserved "a positive assessment". Earlier, in a meeting with President Xi Jinping, special envoy Choe Ryong-hae affirmed North Korea’s wish to create peace dialogue for economic development and improving people’s lives. He said Pyongyang is ready to cooperate with related parties to solve the issues properly through negotiations and consultation including six-party talks and take some positive measures for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
Choe Ryong-hae arrived in Beijing on Wednesday for talks with Chinese senior officals. According to analysts, the visit aims to improve the bilateral ties, which has worsened after Pyongyang’s third nuclear test in February. The two sides are expected to discuss measures to improve relations between Pyongyang and Washington and Seoul.
