Russia hosts European Security Conference

At the European Security Conference, titled “Military and Political Aspects of European Security”, in Moscow on Thursday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov affirmed that Russia wants to strengthen European security cooperation and is not concerned about a new arms race. Lavrov said the cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan will help to stabilize Afghanistan’s security. The European Security Conference is being hosted by the Russian Ministry of Defense. The purpose of the summit is to seek ways on maintain security in Europe.
