Russia requests UN Security Council meeting on Nord Stream sabotage
(VOVWORLD) - Russia has requested that a UN Security Council meeting be held next Wednesday to discuss the Nord Stream gas pipeline sabotage, Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said on his Telegram channel Wednesday.

The same day, the Russian Embassy in the US announced that the damage of the Nord Stream pipeline system 1 and 2 last September is an act of international terrorism and Russia will not let the incident be forgotten. The statement said that the US needs to prove that it was not involved in the sabotage.
Russia's statements came as veteran American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh said he believes the US is behind the sabotage.
According to his self-published report, US Navy divers helped by Norway had planted explosives on the pipelines running under the Baltic Sea between Russia and Germany last June and detonated them three months later.
After the September explosions, four leak locations were discovered on two Nord Stream pipelines, two of which are located in the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of Sweden and the two others within Denmark’s EEZ.
Western countries and Russia have blamed each other for the explosions. But investigations carried out by the authorities of Sweden, Denmark, and Germany haven’t laid blame on any country or entity.
