Russia warns Lithuania of retaliation over goods block

(VOVWORLD) -The Kremlin said in a statement on Wednesday that the European Union’s sanctions had resulted in Lithuania preventing the shipment of goods from the Russian mainland to the Kaliningrad territory, and this is "completely unacceptable". The statement added that Russia is considering retaliatory measures.

Lithuania has closed the iron and steel and other metal transport routes from Russia to Kaliningrad, citing that it is obligated to comply with EU sanctions that came into force from the date of this announcement on June 18, related to Russia's military operation in Ukraine.

Earlier on Wednesday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russia's retaliatory measures will not only target the diplomatic sphere but also other practical aspects.
