Russia will not block foreign social media platforms
(VOVWORLD) - Russia doesn’t plan on blocking foreign social media platforms but plans to work with them, said President Vladimir Putin during his annual phone-in on Wednesday.

But Putin added that there are problems if they don't comply with Russia’s demands and laws. Putin also noted that Russian authorities do not demand anything special from social networks but wants all international platforms to open full-fledged representation offices in Russia. Russia has lifted a ban on the Telegram messaging app, which had been blocked in Russia since April, 2018, after an agreement was reached.
