Russian expert praises Vietnam’s efforts to create a peaceful, stable environment
(VOVWORLD) - In an article called “East Sea- Status and Russian approach” posted on May 11 on the webpage of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), Professor of History Anton Viktorovich Bredikhin praised Vietnam’s consistent policy and efforts to create a peaceful, stable environment for socio-economic development including policies for marine economy and the East Sea issue with the motto “Peace-Friendship-Cooperation-Development.”
Bredikhin, who is also a member of the Center for Social Sciences, said Vietnam is pursuing a policy of economic cooperation and signing free trade agreements with several countries and organizations including China, Japan, South Korea, ASEAN, and the Eurasian Economic Union.
Regarding the East Sea issue, Mr. Bredikhin said it’s important to accelerate negotiations on the adoption of the Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea. He emphasized the importance of legal documents including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea to address the disputes.
