Russian President calls for talks on EU-Belarus migrant crisis

(VOVWORLD) - Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the migrant crisis currently developing at the European Union (EU)-Belarus border with Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel in a telephone call Wednesday.

Putin proposed a direct dialogue between representatives of the EU states and Belarus to address current problems.
The two leaders discussed the refugee crisis on the Belarusian border with EU countries and expressed concern over its humanitarian consequences.
Putin and Merkel agreed to continue the conversation on this topic.
