(VOVworld) – Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has ordered a safety review for the Hajj pilgrimage after at least 717 people died and 900 were injured in a stampede in Mina, 5 kilometres west of Mecca.

Preliminary reports say that the tragedy occurred when hundreds of thousands of pilgrims stampeded on Street 204. Local authorities sent 5,000 officials and 200 ambulances to the scene for rescue operations.
