(VOVworld) – A workshop was held in Hanoi on Monday to contribute opinions to the draft document for the upcoming 12^th National Party Congress. Delegates discussed the application of science and technology as a breakthrough in economic development.

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan said: “Many businesses have not paid attention to the application of science and technology. There should be a change in their mindset and the application of scientific advances will increase their competitiveness.”

Nguyen Van De, President of Thanh Hoa province’s Entrepreneurs’ Association said the draft document should determine the role of private businesses and ensure equality between private and state businesses: “Except for those related to national defense, state-owned and private businesses should all operate under market economy regulations.”
