SEA Games 30 kicks off in the Philippines
(VOVWORLD) - The 30th Southeast Asian Games (Sea Games) opened at the Philippine Arena on Saturday in a short, impressive ceremony.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah, international sports officials, and more than 50,000 spectators attended the event. 11 Filipino beauties, all crowned at beauty pageants around the world, accompanied 11 sports delegations in the region during the parade.
Miss Asia Pacific 2018 Sharifa Akeel joined the Vietnamese delegation. Fencer Vu Thanh An was assigned to hold the national flag. The Vietnamese delegation has 856 members, with nearly 600 athletes, competing in more than 40 sports. Vietnam set goals for at least 65 gold medals, being in the top 3 of the SEA Games 2019. Close to the end of the ceremony was a torch light performed by famous boxer Manny Pacquiao. The fireworks display closed the opening ceremony.
