(VOVworld) – A two-day annual conference on maritime security in the East Sea opens today in Washington, is hosted by the US Center for Strategic and International Studies. Entitled “The East Sea and Asia Pacific in Transition: Exploring Options for Managing Disputes”, the conference has brought together scholars and researchers from Asia and the US. Discussion will cover five main topics including recent developments in the East Sea, East Sea in ASEAN-US-China relations, assessment of the current situation in a changing region, the role of international law in resolving and managing territorial disputes, and policy recommendations to enhance regional security and cooperation.
