(VOVworld) – The NA’s Committee for Science, Technology and Environment along with the UN Development Program recently held a seminar to discuss the draft law on natural disaster prevention and mitigation.

The participants agreed that the new law is a significant tool in the fight against natural disasters. Tessa Kelly is the Asia-Pacific Disaster Law program coordinator: "The law includes new regulations very useful to Vietnam when managing and preventing natural disasters. However, there needs to be more supplements that relate to international cooperation and receiving international aid to deal with natural disasters. It is essential to have regulations on how to receive and distribute aid".
