Seoul, Beijing resume military talks
(VOVWORLD) - South Korea and China on Monday resumed a defense policy dialogue, discussing their positions over the recent inter-Korean summit.
Yeo Seok-joo, chief of the National Defense Policy Office, and Hu Changming, head of the international military cooperation unit of China's defense ministry, participated in the talks. The two sides discussed the outcome of the summit, a series of security issues on the Korean Peninsula, and plans for future military partnerships.
The talk came more than two years after both countries held their last working-level defense policy talk in 2016. The dialogue has since been suspended in the wake of Seoul's decision to deploy the terminal high altitude (THAAD) anti-missile system.
