(VOVWORLD) -Singapore is always one of the leading partners of Vietnam in the region, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said at a reception for visiting Speaker of the Singaporean Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin in Hanoi on Friday.
The Prime Minister said he hopes that the National Assembly of both sides will continue supporting connections in post-pandemic economic recovery and development, with focus on the areas of Singapore’s strength and Vietnam’s demand like innovation, green energy, digital economy, and supply chain diversification.
He called on Singapore to share its experience in digital transformation and training high-quality human resources, and creates favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in Singapore.
Speaker Tan said that the Parliament of Singapore supports the cooperation between the two Governments, supports Singaporean businesses to invest in Vietnam, and expands VSIP Industrial Parks to other localities to forge the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.
The two leaders exchanged views on regional and global situation and issues of mutual concern, saying ASEAN should stick to its principled stance on the East Sea, and resolve disputes by peaceful means on the basis of international law including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. They emphasized the importance of ensuring peace, freedom, security and safety of navigation and overflight in the East Sea.
