Sixth round of Syria peace talks begins in Astana
(VOVWORLD) - Astana hosted the sixth international Syrian crisis resolution talks on Thursday. The first day of the forum was dedicated to bilateral consultations and a final plenary meeting is scheduled for Friday.

Bashar Ja’afari, the Syrian ambassador to the United Nations is heading the Syrian government delegation and the chief of staff of the Syrian Free Army, Ahmed Berri, will represent the armed opposition. The Astana talks are focusing on how to regulate the operations of de-escalation forces in Syria and monitor a cease-fire that is part of the de-escalation plan.
