Under the document, the parties involved recognized that the trilateral cooperation has deepened in important areas, benefiting the three countries and their people.
The three countries will identify and implement win-win cooperation projects centered on six key areas closely related to the everyday lives of the people.
These six critical areas are people-to-people exchanges; sustainable development including climate change response; economic cooperation and trade; public health and an aging society; cooperation in science, technology, and digital transformation; and disaster relief and public safety.
South Korea, Japan, and China will promote the program, “Trilateral+X Cooperation” to ensure that the benefits of the trilateral cooperation extend to other countries through inter-governmental consultative mechanisms.
They reaffirmed that maintaining peace, stability, and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and in northeast Asia is a common responsibility and agreed to continue to make positive efforts for a political settlement on the Korean Peninsula.
The leaders renewed their determination to engage in close communication not only within the trilateral framework but also in global multilateral frameworks in which all three countries participate, such as the United Nations Security Council.
The leaders agreed to hold the next summit in Japan.
