(VOVworld) - South Korea's impeached President Park Geun-hye on Sunday publicly denied charges of wrongdoing and said that the accusations against her were "fabrication and falsehood."

She said that Choi Soon-sil was just an acquaintance but not a close friend and denied that Mrs Choi was allowed to get involved in the government affairs. This is the first time, Park spoke to the media since the South Korean parliament voted to impeach her on December 9^th. The first official hearing is slated for Tuesday.
