Southeast Asia’s longest 220kV offshore power line inaugurated
(VOVWORLD) - The first phase of the longest 220kV offshore overhead power transmission line in Southeast Asia was put into operation on Friday, connecting the mainland of the Mekong Delta province Kien Giang and its resort island Phu Quoc.

Construction of the 80-km power line started in March 2019. It consists of 169 transmission towers.
The new project is expected to improve the power supply in Phu Quoc City and ease overloading of the existing underground 110kV power cable.
