(VOVworld) - President Truong Tan Sang has had a working session with the Southwestern Steering Committee on local socio-economic development.

He said this year is the final in the implementation of the 11^th Party Congress resolutions in the context of challenges and opportunities emerged from free trade agreements with the ASEAN and China.
He urged southwestern provinces to improve productivity and quality of crops and husbandry to sharpen their competitive edge: “We have to get prepared to secure successful integration. Threats in economic integration should be reviewed following the removal of tariff barriers on January 2016. Competitiveness must be boosted without state subsidies. More incentive policies should be made available to entice investors.”
