"The declaration of independence of October 27 has been declared unconstitutional and void," a court spokeswoman said in a statement.
The decision came after Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy dismissed Catalan President Carles Puigdemont and his government. The Spanish central government took administrative control of Catalonia and scheduled an election there in December.
