Vietnam and Singapore established diplomatic ties in 1973 and elevated their relationship to a strategic partnership in 2013.

The official visit to Vietnam of Speaker Tan Chuan-Jin takes place in the context of a growing traditional friendship and strategic partnership between Vietnam and Singapore in all areas.

The visit will further promote cooperation between the two countries during the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership next year.
