(VOVworld) – A Sri Lanka–Vietnam trade Centre opened Wednesday in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, to promote bilateral investment, trade, and tourism cooperation.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Ton Sinh Thanh said there has been rapid growth in bilateral relations and trade between the two countries will increase once barriers like high taxes and fees and complicated procedures are removed. Ambassador Thanh suggested signing a bilateral preferential trade agreement toward an eventual free trade agreement.
