Standard Chartered supports Vietnam’s green development

(VOVWORLD) -   Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Bill Winters, Chief Executive of Standard Chartered in Hanoi on Wednesday evening, asking the group’s support for Vietnam in establishing international financial centers, obtaining green finance, and developing the private sector.

He highlighted Vietnam’s ambitious economic targets, including a GDP growth target of at least 8% this year, with aspirations for double-digit growth in the future.

To achieve this, the PM said, Vietnam has prioritized developing an international financial hub and implementing sustainable development initiatives. The Prime Minister urged Standard Chartered to share expertise and provide strategic advice on financial ecosystems, policy frameworks, human resource training, and climate finance.

Bill Winters praised Vietnam’s impressive economic progress and reaffirmed Standard Chartered’s commitment to supporting the country’s green development initiatives, particularly in establishing international financial centers.
