(VOVWORLD) - A delegation of the Party and State led by President Vo Van Thuong on Saturday paid homage to late President Ton Duc Thang at his memorial house in An Giang province to mark his 135th birth anniversary (August 20).

The delegates including former Presidents Nguyen Minh Triet, Truong Tan Sang, and Nguyen Xuan Phuc; and former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung offered incense and spent a minute of silence to honor late President Thang who devoted his whole life to the revolution.
At a working session with An Giang’s Public Security Department on the occasion of the Traditional Day of the public security force, President Vo Van Thuong said that in order to gain the trust and the heart of the people, the public security force needs to make itself a pure and strong force. This means that every officer and cadre has to do their utmost, and sometimes even make sacrifices, to become a role model, he added.

As An Giang, a border province, is prone to smuggling, human trafficking, and transnational crimes, President Thuong urged the provincial public security force to take the initiative in addressing these problems and be ready for any contingencies.
