State President arrives in Beijing for APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting
(VOVworld) - State President Truong Tan Sang and his entourage arrived in Beijing, China on Sunday to attend the 22nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
President Sang was welcomed at the airport by representatives of APEC organizing board, Beijing authorities, China’s Foreign Ministry, and Vietnamese Ambassador to China Nguyen Van Tho and his staff.
The 22nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting will be held in Beijing on Monday and Tuesday under the theme of "Shaping the Future through Asia-Pacific Partnership". The meeting prioritizes three topics -- "Advancing regional economic integration", "Promoting innovative development, economic reform and growth" and "Strengthening comprehensive development in infrastructure and connectivity". The meeting is scheduled to approve 15 documents including 2 declarations of APEC senior leaders.
On this occasion, President Sang will have meetings with APEC countries’ leaders and elite businessmen from around the world.
