State President congratulates UN Secretary General on his re-appointment
(VOVWORLD) - State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has congratulated United Nations Secretary General on his re-appointment by the UN General Assembly and discussed Vietnam – UN cooperation.

During the telephone conversation on Saturday, the President said Vietnam is a responsible member of the UN and has contributed positively to the UN, including its non-permanent membership at the Security Council, participation in peace-keeping activities, implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and its nomination to the Human Rights Committee in the 2023-2025 term. He asked UN agencies to support Vietnam in the Covid-19 vaccination and policy advisory for post-pandemic recovery.
Secretary General Antonio Guterres hailed Vietnam’s important factor for peace and stability in the region and thanked Vietnam for its successful treatment of a corona virus infected UN staff, demonstrating a unity spirit to overcome the pandemic.
