Mr. Thuong said that the Party and State always create all conditions for religions to operate equally, respect the freedom to religion, and improve the material and cultural life of people, including ethnic minorities.
He attributed the national development to the important contributions of the outstanding religious dignitaries, intellectuals, organizations and individuals.
“Ho Chi Minh City should continue to promote the role of intellectuals and religious dignitaries and officials in all movements, as they are the role models of conscience, morality, lifestyle, and the bridge between the Party and people," said President Thuong.
He added: "I hope that delegates will continue to uphold your prestige and influence to strengthen the great national unity and encourage people to abide by the Party’s guidelines and State policies and participate in national patriotic movements. They should inspire other social forces, particularly young people to unite to realize the City’s development aspirations and vision.”
