(VOV) - The sixth plenum of the Party Central Committee concluded up in Hanoi on October 15 after releasing a summary of their 15-day session.
The Committee’s agenda included this year’s socio-economic situation, orientations and tasks for next year, opinions on restructuring State-owned enterprises and revising land policies and land law, fundamental and comprehensive education and training reform, and science and technology development to serve industrialization, modernization, and the international integration of Vietnam’s socialist-oriented market economy.
The session touched upon personnel planning for the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat and key State and Party leadership titles for the 2016 – 2021 tenure and the succeeding tenures.
The Committee reviewed the outcomes of the political campaign of self-criticism and criticism of cooperatives and individuals in the Politburo and the Secretariat required by the Party Central Committee’s 4th resolution on “urgent Party building issues”, and established a new Economic Commission.
For the first time, the Committee held a Q&A session. The Committee called on the Party, people, and armed forces to enhance unity, strive to overcome difficulties and meet challenges, and continue to fulfill the resolution of the 11
th Party Congress, the resolution of the Committee’s 4
th meeting, and other resolutions and conclusions of the Party Central Committee and socio-economic development plan.
