Strategy for the Development of External Information reviewed

(VOVworld) - Vietnam’s Overseas Services will expand the dissemination information in foreign languages, rejecting false reports and the distortion of hostile forces, and further coordinate between major news agencies and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad. This year’s tasks were set out at a meeting of the Steering Committee for External Information in Hanoi on Tuesday. Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education, said that efforts should be made to make the international community and Overseas Vietnamese understand correct the reality of life in Vietnam and support Vietnam’s viewpoints on major issues.

Reports at the meeting said that in 2012 the audience worldwide was kept informed of what was happening in Vietnam, Party guidelines and State policies. The image of Vietnam, its culture and people was promoted overseas. Pham Van Linh, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education, said: “Amidst the difficulties and challenges that Vietnam has encountered as well as the complicated developments in the region and the world, external information dissemination should be strengthened and reformed. The Steering Committee needs to uphold the role of individuals in the effective implementation of the Strategy for the Development of External Information for the 2011-2020 period.”
