Success of peacekeeping force illustrates Vietnam’s sound foreign policy
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to the UN hosted a ceremony on Friday to mark the 76th anniversary of the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers (May 29) and 10 years since Vietnam joined the UN peacekeeping mission.

In his remarks, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, congratulated members of the Vietnamese armed forces, who are on duty at UN missions and the UN headquarters.
He insisted that Vietnam's peacekeeping forces have made many outstanding contributions to international peacekeeping activities over the past decade, which have been applauded by UN leaders and the host countries.
He attributed the achievements to the Party and State’s sound policy to send Vietnamese personnel to UN peacekeeping missions.
Over the past 10 years, more than 800 Vietnamese peacekeepers have been deployed in in South Sudan, the Central African Republic, the Abyei Area, and the Department of Peace Operations at the UN Headquarters in New York.
