(VOVWORLD) - At least 8 people were killed and 15 wounded on Monday at a mosque in Maiduguri in northeastern Nigeria.

Head of the Maiduguri state emergency management agency Admed Satomi said a female suicide bomber detonated her explosives at a mosque in London Chiki district at 5:30, right after the morning prayer ceremony. Mr. Satomi said 2 similar attacks at the same time were reported in the Maiduguri area and 2 female bombers were killed.
It was the second attack in Maiduguri within a week carried out by female suicide bombers. Last Wednesday, at least 19 people were killed and 23 others injured when 4 women set off bombs in Maiduguri city.
