Summer camp for young Vietnamese expats opens
(VOVworld) - Summer Camp 2016 for young Vietnamese expats with high achievement in academics and community activities opened in Hanoi on Tuesday. At the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs Dang The Hung said the camp provides the youths an opportunity to explore Vietnam’s interesting places and its tangible and intangible cultural heritages. He said the youngsters also learn about their responsibility to introduce Vietnam’s culture and history to the world.

110 Vietnamese youths from 24 countries and territories will attend Summer Camp 2016 from July 10-23, visiting Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Thua Thien – Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Da Nang. They will pay tribute to national heroes and tour heritage sites such as the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long and the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, Ha Long Bay in northern Quang Ninh province, Hue imperial city in central Thua Thien – Hue province and My Son Sanctuary in central Quang Nam province.
The young Vietnamese expats will also take part in social and charity activities.
The annual camp is held by the Foreign Ministry’s Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs.
