(VOVworld) - Taekwondo martial artists took their first gold medal for Vietnam on the morning of the seventh day of the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore.

Swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien won a gold medal at the women’s 200m breaststroke on the last day of her swimming competition. In athletics, gold hopeful Quach Cong Lich finished first in heat 1 of the men’s 400-metre event to advance to the final. In archery, Nguyen Tien Cuong beat Sapriatno Sapriatno of Indonesia in the semi-finals to reach the final in the men’s individual compound event. 
In the men’s basketball, Vietnam earned their first win after beating Myanmar 96-68. The team will face Cambodia in the last match.
